Wallis and Futuna

There is no U.S. Consular agent or consular office in Wallis and Futuna. Persons resident in or visiting Wallis and Futuna who require assistance from a U.S. diplomatic mission should contact the U.S. Embassy in Suva, Fiji, P.O. Box 218 or 31 Loftus Street, Suva, Fiji, telephone: (679) 3314-466, fax (679) 3302-267.

There are no private lawyers in the Territory of Wallis and Futuna. The Court Clerk performs the functions of notary, bailiff, and appraiser when necessary. Inquires concerning legal matters may be directed to the Administrateur Superieur, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Administration in the Territory.

The court of Mata-Utu (for the District of Wallis and Futuna Islands) comes with the competence of the Appellate Court of Noumea, New Caledonia. Lawyers registered at this court and the legal agents recognized by it may draw up documents for use in the Court of Mata-Utu. Persons interested are referred to the List of Attorneys for New Caledonia.
